The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Surely it can't be that hard if you already know how to ski fairly decent. I'll try anything once, well almost anything.

Has thanked: 1 time

Ski Cop, I skied for 23 years and learned to Snowboard in about 3 days. It does help that you have skied, knowing how snow reacts, and especially the fall line are very helpful in Snowboarding. The first day is brutal, but the learning curve is shorter than skiing. You should do it. Nothing like carving a big turn in POW or even a nice groomed run.

This is definitely going to be fun. There isnt much more entertaining than watching someone their first day on a snowboard.

thanks-will try some demo's per this thread. the recons i had washed on the groomer )possibly not rolling 'em over hard enough or bad demo's). looking for ones that lean toward off trail, but gotta use 'em @ end of day to get home via groomers.

i'm a recent convert to the volkl explosiv (thanks, TD). quite possibly the best all-around ski ever made. beefy, sturdy, stiff, and brawny. there are easier skis for groomers, but if the corduroy is more of an ends to a means, give them a look.
