The Southeast is just so %$^## undependable (especially NC!) when it comes to snow at our (little) "resorts" in "winter"! You better like golf if you want to live here.. aarrrggghhh! I think someone said it well on here somewhere - we live in the snowsports ghetto of the U.S.... :( - I may have lived here my entire life so far, but if it were not for living in Delta's huge hub with flights where I can be anywhere (with good snow..) relatively easy, I would have been out of here a long time ago... (and I still think I may be moving somewhere either much further north and/or west as soon as I can unwind a few things we've built up here - funny what the love of snow will make you do!

Glad I'm off to Loon Mountain in NH tomorrow for a day (where it is even warm for up there right now).. and at lease the NW and Canadian Rockies are decent... going to focus the rest of my time and money there the rest of the "winter" and Spring!

Ober is closing for the season today. It's February 18th. Just wow.

With no snowmaking in sight (and more rain), I have a feeling we're going to see more closings in the next week or two.
WOOOOOO!

I worked Patrol at Wolf all weekend and I honestly don't think we'll be open next weekend. there is some debate between the powers that be on whether or not we could be. The owner seems to think that we'll be completely over whelmed by the weather and the Mtn manager wants to at least try to do it since we have a large number in groups coming. We'll see...I brought my gear home anyway...I can always carry some back up if we do open.

I am writing the morning report right now and commented on how it wouldn't surprise me to see Wolf not re-open. The weather this week is more warmth and rain.

Snowshoe received boot deep pow last weekend and had 59/60 slopes open. I fully expect conditions to be good for the summit.

I can't believe Oma's Meadow is still "open". Why in the world would they run that lift like that.
