Ran up to Ober yesterday and skiied a while with UABSkier. The snow actually kept people away and we never waited in more than a 2-3 minute line all day. Crowds kinda got crazy around 3:00 so we called it a day.

I've never been to Hawksnest, but I like Ober. It's small and usually crowded on the weekends, but if you get there early, you can beat the release of the ski school minions. To me, and I know I'll get killed for this, Ober has more variety that Cat. Ouch, stop guys, those stones really hurt.

Honesty is the best policy, besides Ober is about an hour and a half closer for me.

Pics look great, and I'm amazed at the lack of background skiers in those pics.

When are we going to Ober Wayne? We need to have a mini-summit there this year since they have almost everything open.

Ober needs a new website or maybe it's part of their small mountain charm.

Doubtful, most of my connections are gone.

On a couple of other notes, It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Ober close after March 5.

I got a call from UAB and he said they evac'd the black lift Sunday afternoon.
