but I also hate these kinds of generalizations saying Bode is an embarrassment

You are missing the point. This is the Olympics, it only happens every 4 years. No doubt Bode is an incredible skier/athlete and very gifted, but imagine how much better he would be if he focused on training instead of partying. IMO He is unprepared for these Olympics. He's got one more event to prove me wrong.

Man, I don't know how you can say he was underprepared. He finished something like 5th in one event and 6th in another. He lost the two of them by a combined 1 second. You can't "wing" that.

Amen Afro- Somebody gets it. How about Ligety, he won the GOLD in combined, skied his butt off, I guess he is too clean cut and trains hard (like the Austrians) that is boring, he needs to drink or smoke and party with the in-crowd to get the marketing dollars. We need more Ricky Williams, TO's and Dennis Rodman's. They are great role models....durrrr.

He doesn't have his own Nike commericals....Ricky has a heisman, Rodman has a few championship rings, and TO.....is TO. Not saying that I don't agree, but boring doesn't sell, you have to establish yourself from the rest.

There's a time to party, and if you're an Olympian, there's a good chunk of time you HAVE to devote to training. None of those biathletes or cross-country skiiers could get away with a party lifestyle. I'm not judging, though. Every sport is different. For better or worse, Bode Miller has proved that you can party with the rest of 'em while being an Olympic downhill skiier. But let me throw in a quick judgement -- he looked absolutely shaky and tired yesterday.

Just think how the average person would ski under those conditions?

BODE FOR SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR!!!

you guys can't say anything, neither can i, cause you know he would rock our faces off in any race or competition ever. so what he doesn't win the medals, you are an even bigger disappointment to the team because you didnt even make the cut. winning medals has nothing to do with it.

you never want to win a medal in the Olympics, that would be silly.

Isn't TO still looking for a job? Being a rebel got him a spot in the unemployment line.

Well, that whole holding out for more money thing didn't help his rebel persona.

It's all about the money. Obviously that's Bode's problem too. Too bad that doesn't fit with his "I don't really care if I win. I lost my medal" philosophies. All in all, he is a sellout amoungst sellouts. Did I mention that I HATE professional sports. How much do you think Ligety made skiing this year compared to Bode?

Bode is a rebel, the world needs a rebel. One who breaks rules and is the bad guy.

Look at what it has got him so far.

Yep It has given him a bad name among most americans...Americans actually pulling for americans to lose...you should have heard the call-ins on the radio today...He was being compared to Terrell Owens and Barry Bonds...lol...what a loser...
