The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

It's more of a liability issue for a vrbo unit owner in the event the something bad happens. Say there was a fire, someone got hurt (god forbid killed). If the owner knowingly allowed guests to exceed the max occupancy he /she is going to be in deep crap once the lawsuits start. I realize the chances are remote of something that bad happening but ....... it can happen.

Snowshoe really has no say in what vrbo owners do. We are all bound by our homeowners assoc rules and regs.

"It's more of a liability issue for a vrbo unit owner " Ain't that the truth!
Snowshoe has deep pockets - a VRBO may have holes in their pockets! LOL
Also...VRBO does not include many mountain amenities:
"Access to the pool area is FREE to guests who book their lodging through Snowshoe Central Reservations .... OTHER guests may access Split Rock Pools with an admission fee of $15 per person". I always thought that was Outrageous as an Owner that simply did Not want to go thru Snowshoe Rental...especially since we STILL paid the Mountain Tax!!!
I just left mine empty rather then incur the inevitable "renters damage" AND the Liability!
