The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

It had historically been an inch of snow as reported by Kenny on here at a NC ski resort. I get including Snowshoe et all up there... but most times they get some when Noone else does.
Problem with no cut off date is that I can look at the forecast and guess now vs a luck of the draw situation

I'm fine with limiting to NC ski areas for the first validated inch of snow on the ground.

As for a cut off date, let's try something different. As long as there are unclaimed dates, it's fine for someone to join in the fun. Maybe we'll pull in a few lurkers. Who knows . . . there might even be a little prize but don't hold your breath. Bragging rights is all that's being offered at the moment.

Still open for picking a date. Deal is that we are looking for the first day there is an inch of snow at a NC ski area, as validated by a rep of SkiSoutheast. I started this thread so I get to make the rules for 2017-18. :-)
