The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Thank you SkiATL, you havent been on that much any more?

Yancey man, its been a long time since ive done anything stupid like that. My car no longer runs (from doing too many stupid things at the beginning of last summer). I lost Jesus, litteraly, if any of you find my jesus action figure, please let me know, but he has been MIA for about 8 months.

Not to mention my girlfriends family pretty much lives on this board, showing some of those pictures now isnt the best idea

I think there was more art in those old shots than there is in these newer ones. The new ones are better pictures, but the art part (with the exception of a lot of the nightime stuff) is pretty, MEH.

But then my knowledge of art is probably surpassed by Tom's, and that's only my opinion.

THe Jesus run really ruffled some feathers too, I enjoyed watching the fur fly over those.

Are you talking about the Jesus on my dashboard and the pictures of my friends and I playing with fireworks art? Or just the previous pictures ive posted in the past couple months?

That whole series of the pictures with the Jesus statue. I must've missed the ones with your friends playing with fireworks. I like the recent ones that were done at night too, the traffic ones, and the ones down by the railroad tracks. Those pics evoke feelings (I think they are kinda spooky), where the other ones are great pictures, but unless that's my cat, or unless I remember where that flower was for some special reason, they are just pretty pictures with no feeling attached. To me that's the difference between just being a photographer and being an artist, its being able to convey some emotion through your camera lens.

I lifted this one from a photo thread over on TGR.

Doesn't it make you wonder who the kid is, who the other people are, what the circumstances are, is it at a yard sale, do these people know each other? It evokes emotions and questions and gets your brain moving, instead of "Nice cat", and then moving along.

Hey Afro, what do you use to put tags on your pictures? I need to do that sometime soon.
