After a ten-year absence, the NCAA Skiing Championships will return to Montana State and Bozeman, March 5-8, 2008
The National Collegiate Athletic Association awarded MSU its 2008 national championship during the NCAA Skiing Committee meetings, last week. The alpine venue is slated for Bridger Bowl, while the Nordic events will be held at Bohart Ranch.
“The committee really likes the college town atmosphere that Bozeman provides,” said Bobcat ski coach Dan Brelsford. “They also like how close the two venues are located to each other and Bozeman, and the caliber of the venues.”
Montana State last hosted the NCAA Championships in 1998. In all, the Bobcats have hosted five NCAA Skiing Championships (1960, 1983, 1985, 1996, and 1998).
The 2007 NCAA Skiing Championships will be hosted by the University of New Hampshire.
