The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Been thanked: 5 times

Got there and started skiing about 11 AM. Crowds were light with only a couple people in lift lines, but picked up in the afternoon. As my wife and I were driving up we could see the fog/clouds, so we knew visibility would be limited. Beech seems to have clouds/fog frequently so we are used to it. However, today Beech decided to run the snow guns from the top of Shawnee to pretty much the lodge. So, as soon as you got off the lift you had to deal with fog and blowing snowgun snow which was due to the 10 -20 MPH winds. Goggles iced quickly, making it difficult to see pretty much the whole way. The trails were in nice shape, plenty of powder - just a couple inches - just the way I like it. There was a little ice on the lower section of Shawnee, only for about 100 feet, but it was no issue.

We enjoyed the trail conditions, but fog/snowguns/wind blowing the snow made it difficult to see and cold on the body. If they would just shut off the snow guns during these times with decent size crowds it would be perfect. However, I doubt they will ever learn.

I would definitely recommend them right now for their snow conditions.
