The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Made it out on Beech tonight to ski. Great night of skiing, great powder, ZERO visibility. Fog was rolling in heavy. Have a few photos, including running into a few Ski NC'ers at the lodge, getting those loaded up as soon as I can.

The ski conditions were great, a little icy spot getting off the quad at the top, right outside of the lift house, but I don't think it can be helped, just where the warmer air from the lift house is hitting that fresh powder then the cool air freezing it again. Snow guns were pumping it out and had to scrape my goggles quickly before they would ice over 20 yards later. No lines, no one hardly on the mountain (surprising guys, they are doing some awesome things at Beech, worth the visit). Hoping the fog lifts by tomorrow or maybe Monday so I might can actually see which trails I'm skiing. White Lightning was closed, but I guess the fog was a little too strong and someone didn't seen the boundary markers because I saw some fresh tracks down it when I was going up the lift that weren't there at the beginning of the night (not me, honest).

All and all, great night of fresh powder skiing.

Thanks to Rhyno and the guys at the lodge for saying hello.

I'll try and get the pictures up by tomorrow afternoon.

We had planned to stay and ski the night session but with the low visibility and the the ride back to WS, discression won out. Sorry we missed the chance to meet you and see some other SkiNCers. Next time!
