Snowshoe dec 19 2009
nearly all the good stuff closed off today. snowmakers full tilt on sawmill. looks like jhook, knotbumper, ballhooter, all *should* be open. snow is nice though, lots fun little cuts into and out of the trees. best powder is the 30 feet behind the condo. lunch done, time to head back out

I thought the marlinton inn met the qualifications of what you were looking for JM cheap, fairly close and being a dive was o.k.

Hey Brookbarrel -- it was a lot of fun -- I'm going to post a TR tomorrow but it will be old news by then; maybe I will just upload some photos on your thread
I went down Sawmill one of the last runs before they wisely closed it -- my sons had been there about the time you described and after talking to them I went over but TOO late, way more rocks then powder
I was late because I was having a blast demoing the Armada ARV (sp?) and the Elray (again sp?) I love demo days -- I always feel like I'm getting by with something.
Great early turns; have you looked at the SS video from Ed -- I'm pretty sure you're in it
