The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard
The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.
We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.
We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Only time will tell what closing day's gonna be like in the morning.
Should be pretty nice.
Im up here for my 1st time this weekend. Starting to snow now.
Love the pics. I saw all but the last few pond skimmers. The "old guy" with a cane must have been one of the later starts as i dont remember seeing him. Who won btw?
btw, whats the best way back to CLT on snowy roads. I came in on 219, but someone said 92 is easier(especially in bad weather) but further.

And for the grand finale of the 2011 season SS mtn. offered up some fun pow turns for first tracks. A couple inches fell overnight + the wind worked its magic .
Here's Ed sampling the rewards of being at the rope drop for first tracks and a sweet pow fan.
Ditto for Wakeboarder, claiming skiers can sling pow too!
This while riding pic is posted so these two guys can remember how fun the first 2 runs down Widowmaker were this morning.
As for BB , he just wants to get shacked.
Little white room..Sequence..
Or 2
What a way to end the season!!Thanks Ed+WB for the photo help

Yeah, it was nice this morning when the rope dropped. A good bit of ungroomed snow on the edges and a few trails that looked like the snow fell after they groomed them. Even a sucky skier like myself appreciated that...
Yew Pine was fun (for me), and seemed like not many people got over there so there was untracked snow to be found for a few runs. That lift is slow as hell though.
When i left at 11:30, it looked like they had Cupp Run shut down for some reason.

Brookbarrel - Great trip report. I had a lot of fun making turns with you guys. The morning laps on widowmaker and camp 99 were a blast and it was fun to get over to Lower Shay's on the last day.
