The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

This is the spot to post your trail and trip reports. Please notify [email protected] when you do so that we can feature the better ones on the front of the website.

That being said, intimidation from employees is bad for business, so what can ya do?

At Perfect North near Cinti, they have a sign entering the park that says "rental skis not permitted in park". They make those folks go over to a smaller park that is set up with a very small rail and a bump-jump so they can fall all over that!

That's a good idea^^^. I know I have seen those signs before; not sure where. I remember thinking "Now It's a good way to segregate idiots from the park w/ out employees seeming ****ish." I mean, if you have rentals, more than likely you wont have the skill for the park anyway. You always see kids w/ rentals just standing in the way, messing up the features cause they cant ski/board, or laying 1/2 unconscious in a blind landing zone because they thought they could. There's no telling how much rental equipment gets ****ed up since the insertion of parks as well. I don't guess it's so much of an issue w/ boards, but I know for a fact that rental skis bindings DIN are set insanely low; to the point of an almost assured yard-sale off the smallest feature, even if the person could land a small kicker etc...

All in all, this should be something that all resorts do. At least in the moderate and advanced parks. It should be on the rental agreement as well, enforced by revocation of your lift pass by violation.

The only bad thing about doing this, is that could really hurt a place like App.

I It dos'nt have to be "strongly" enforced if the park employee sees a fully competent person. Yet it can be used as a measure/reason to slap the (12 hours on snow in their life, 13 year old, Shaun "BadAss" Whites from Florida) on the wrist, and keep them where they belong without a lot of trouble.
