Here is an ongoing TR now that I've moved to Utah.

Ill post some pics of skiing and other interesting things.

This last weekend was the first weekend I hadn't skied since I got here(except for the first weekend as I was moving things in). I went to Capitol Reef and Bryce Canyon instead. More on that later, as I haven't even taken the pics from my camera yet.

For now Ill start with the weekend before the 4th. I went up to the north face of Mount Superior for some late July turns.

alta is getting pretty thin.

lookin over at snowbird from somewhere near cardiff pass

It's about 3 hours to get to the summit. Here's the first look we got. Still some decent snow

this looked fun...has a mandatory air

cardiff fork

our trail goes up the ridge, usually to the south(left) of it

looking back at little superior

and snowbird

made it to the top

got that panorama

looking down, time for some downclimbing

time to ski

buddy slayin it

he was supposed to take pics of me, but my battery ran out and his phone didn't have any memory...oh well.

looking back up, 1/3 the way down

tracks

the skiing was actually pretty good, especially for how late we were out there. Prob the best skiing I had all year (yeah, I know)

getting back to the trail was a chore... We basically just had to traverse across the mountainside, which had very loose rock that wanted to slide down.

we made it back to the trail after a few falls (nothing too bad)

looking back at superior

all in all, it was a great trip, with a little bit of good skiing.

Now for my little trip to Alta 2 weeks ago:

I decided to make a quick solo trip up and ski some stuff on baldy. Made friends with a snowboarder and we hiked and rode down the mountain together.

from teh parking lot

baldy

looking down...the (actual) white patches are from the new snow earlier in the week

snowboarder ridin down

lookin up at what we rode...

after that, things were pretty flat and slow. Snow was super slushy so it was hard to get speed. Places where I had been able to ski continuously the week before were now patches. Some shady areas off of wildcat were fun.

lookin down

lookin up

tracks might be visible? (not sure looking at thumbnail)

and finally, the first weekend I was able to ski, I also went up to alta. Pretty similar, except there is more snow. less pics

That's it for now. Ill upload some pics from so. utah later.

This weekend I am moving again(a couple blocks away) so I will likely try to get July turns in on some patches up at Alta again. We will see. Then I prob wont go again until early August and september when I will tryout Mount Timpanogos and maybe mount Nebo.
