Yep, I brought my camera with me- inside a LowePro topload bag, inside my Dakine HeliPro. It's a little annoying on the lifts, but not that bad really.

I shot all of these with my Canon 50D and Sigma 18-125 OS HSM lens.

Nice, that's one of the lenses I was looking at for my 350D.

Get it. IMO, it's the best mid-range zoom available in that price range. Great IQ (see pics above), fast AF, and you can't beat the range. It blows away the Canon 18-135 in all those categories. It's my favorite all-purpose lens by far (without spending $900, that is).

It's my workhorse lens for a lot of things, but I also have the Sigma 10-20mm ultra-wide angle, and the Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro lens as well.

I was looking at some 18-250mm lenses, but they seem to have far too many compromises to be of any real use.

I think the Canon 18-200 is a good lens, but it's also around $600 new. For that price, I personally would rather get a couple of lenses and not compromise on quality.

$600 is a ton of cash for a single lens regardless of how good it is.
