The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard
The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.
We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.
We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Does this feel anything like snow? Is it cold? It looks like carpet to me.
No it's not cold, and to the touch it feels nothing like snow. It is a carpet, kinda like the old astroturf, just with a thicker pile. Riding on it however it feels alot like snow. The wierdest thing about the whole experience was walking out of the lodge in pants, long sleeve shirt and gloves, carring my board, looking at the slope and sweating cause it's 85 degrees. Just felt wrong.
Here is a pic from the parking lot. You can see that they have more vert they can expand into and all the area to the right of the current slope that will be slope by Nov 28th. All the gray is fist sized rocks, so off piste riding would be very sketch at best.

I'm heading up Aug 29 for the grand opening. Taking the video camera. I'll try to talk to a bunch of people and get a bunch of opinions on it and get footage of people riding it.

Yea I went Wednesday. It was diffently something different. I didn't make but just a few runs though cause that rope tow sucks!!! It needs a magic carpet type thing so there isn't so much resistance being pulled up that velcro strip. My arms are sore but maybe I'm just out of shape too. However, I do think I'll make a another trip or two before the real ski season starts and then after that there's no point when App is just an hour from my house.
I posted a report on the main page with some pics.

Ober realized this was a bad idea years ago. Having skied on a similar surface there, I would never let my good skis touch that crap.
