Today we met up with some Divas at Alpine Meadows. It was sunny and pretty warm, in the 40's. Led to heavy conditions in a lot of places, even by mid-morning. We did the adventurous runs in the morning. Took it easy on the blue runs off the Lakeview Chair on Scott's Peak after lunch. Plus a few runs down the Alpine Bowl. The snow there stayed nice, especially over towards the Alpine Chair.

Needless to say, blues out can be a lot steeper than most blacks in the SE. I had relative skinny skis today. A whole easier to deal with the bumps. The easy access bowls were pretty much tracked out yesterday. Amazingly, I only went down once in the untracked powder on the South Face.

Today we were at Sugar Bowl. It's closer to California. Not too many pics since I spent the morning in a clinic by NASTC. Learning some good stuff. Even more fun since I'm using Rossi Attraxion 8 demo skis provided free by NASTC. Lots of fun!

After lunch my ski buddy and I were on the Lincoln and Disney lifts. Did some warm up and then went down Silver Belt. Only rated single black, but apparently was used for a major race starting way back in the 1940's. The Lincoln lift is the only one with foot rests. But all five major lifts are express quads or 6-packs. Sugar Bowl has 4 peaks, so you do need to keep track of time to make sure you end up at the right place before the lifts shut down at 4pm.

Cooler today, but still enough sun to soften things up by mid-morning. Supposed to snow tomorrow and Wed!

Easier to get rock star parking on a Monday, about 8am

Kim and I are trying to make it to Beech for the cheap lifties in 2 weeks. We're trying to leave on Fri the 12th after she gets off work and then coming home Sunday evening. Care to join?

A powder day! Officially 2-3 inches of fresh snow, but with the wind it felt more like 4-6 inches. Snowing steadily all day. The place was empty so first-tracks on groomers were easy to get. Although the Summit Express was loading, no one from the Diva Week group went up since visibility was going to be very limited up top. I was glad we got to scope out the mountain on Sun. We skied off Roundtop Express or Scott Chair.

There are 14 Divas taking the NASTC 3-day clinic. Split into three groups (6 intermediate, 4 advanced, 4 advanced/expert). I'm quite happy in the advanced group, which includes SkiDiva who created TheSkiDiva forum and set up this first Diva-only clinic. Got pointers on how to handle moguls, especially on steeper slopes today. Also did video of everyone for comments during lunch.

This is the third annual Diva Week. There are quite a few Divas here just to ski who aren't taking the clinic, including some from England and Australia. Most are with a hubby or BF. So my ski buddy, who is a family friend, is having a good time skiing with the other guys during the clinic in the mornings. Then we ski together with or without other Divas after lunch. Our non-skiing spouses are home keeping warm.

Could be a foot or more of new powder in the next day or so! :D
