The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

Nice report EC, the Chugach are so majestic it is really beyond words and almost impossible to describe.Haven't been there in many years, and even then it was in November in Eagle River so much snow and really cold. Awesome Glacier pictures, hard to get across the magnatude of them in a picture. Thanks.

I want to go there!How far did you hike and how much elevation change did you hike up?Looks like you were way up there!

Not sure of mileage the first day, elevation was approx 2500 ft vert. Second day was 8.2 miles, 3500 ft vert, third day was 5 miles, 3000 vert. 9000 ft in 2.5 days, not too bad.



Though a lot of guys who really get after it pretty regularly ski 10k ft on a good backcountry day. Oof.

Ah- you reminded me. I meant to put this pic in the TR as the "afrobigfoot special":







If you get a chance, you should try to head up there in the summer and shoot the railroad sometime- I bet you would come back with an amazing set of pics.

Its on my "to do" list. I am starting a new job soon that will finally bring me out of the poor house and in a year or two enable me to start traveling abroad :-D
