The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

You don't have to pay to use the MTB trails, do you?

I lived in Charlotte for a few years and used to ride those trails all the time before the center was built. I'm curious to see what they're like now.

Granted it's not comparable to the USNWC (it will be on the shores of Allatoona), but I'm sure ATLiens are snarking about the $1B sports complex that is in process in the Red Top Mountain / Emerson area of the GA world...because who wants to drive to Bartow County??

Wonder what those ball fields will look like when we have another drought. I'm guessing they'll use all the last drops from the lake to keep them looking nice.

Seems like a waste of money to me.

^Look who showed, from his hiatus. That place is going to be a waste of a CRAPLOAD of $$$. Then again, I see it going the way of the indoor ski/snowboard parks.

Bronco -- I can't find a link for it anywhere but there's supposed to be an indoor slope there too. Again...Bartow County???? (trying to get a tourist twist since the manufacturing twist of the county has been long dead & gone)

Stealth -- Bobby Cox will be one of them outta money on dead ballfields with this venture. LOL Not like Allatoona has the lake levels to be drained in the first place.

The indoor slope has gone the way of a fart in the wind. There is NO way they would be able to draw the amount of water needed from Allatoona, as it's under the peruse of the Army Corps. They don't even let us draw enough water from it now for public use here, as they release too much of it now to go to down river states.
