The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

This is not sound logic. If I dedicated that much money up front to Beech how inclined do you think I would be to go pay full price to ski Sugar? I like to have options. This price tag Saturday hit everyone who paid, good luck pitching that to everyone else affected.

Looks like fun even with the guns blowing. As soon as more terrain is open, I'll make the drive. Ready to get back on the snow!

I've been skiing for 25 years now, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the ski areas still do not have anyone standing at the ticket windows with guns forcing anyone to buy tickets do they? Early season skiing comes with it's downsides people, if not willing to put up with it, come back in mid January when all is good. These resorts are a business that needs to make money to pay the hundreds of employees, power bills, insurance, etc.. Nothing good in life is free, so if you don't want to pay to play, stay at home.

Thanks Mike! We did have a good time, and the girls did not complain either. Any day on the snow is better than work or cleaning house. :D

You don't get it. I'm sure that all sounded good in your head when you wrote it, but observe the facts before you start spewing your knowledge. First off, this is a trail report section, so do you think it's possible for someone to have a negative trip report? God forbid!! Secondly, what was specifically the matter this time with Beech is them opening up 2 weekends in a row, and the first Saturday was half the price and better ski, and with worsened conditions all around they double the price the next week.

So when you're throwing out your little 'no one forced you to buy tickets', that's really cute, especially to iheartsnow who looks like lives on Beech. But when you live in Charlotte, do your research to the best of your ability to gauge the worth of the trip, then leave at 5:30 in the morning to make a trip, you don't think there's any pressure when you finally get up to the ticket booth and find out not only are the conditions are worse but it's full price? May be a little easier for the guy that lives on the mountain to turn heel and say I'm going home.

Some of the people here either have their heads plunged up their arses or their hands in Beech's pocket. To sum it up, this is the proper place for people to give an accurate report of their trip, hence the name trip report. If it's not all smiles and jingle bells kindly leave and find another thread.

60 was probably a bit much, just another reason to sport a pass.
