Today we had the best turns of the year in a retty dramatic way. We skied emma #2 south facing into alta. 5 days ago it was completely bare ground, today it was 14" of dry pow on a 3' base of dense snow and it was phenomenal.

A tricky convoluted approach was taken because of avvy conditions so it took us a long time. A couple miles of this except with some dicy areas. It started blowing pretty good and nuking from about 11:30am to currently.

Did you guys take the summer road up to Fantasy, then out the ridge? If so, kudos to you, because thats a loooooong haul. I was trying to figure out how to pulled that one off without skinning up anything dangerous...

^ yea we went summer road to twin lakes up fantasy and then to West Bowl which is where the ridge that separates days and silver forks, so it was a long way. from the TH to the place we skied from on the ridge we saw fresh debris from 7 natural slides, some of them were big, but nothing on the S aspect we skied. Everyone else in the group has an avvy level 2 cert, so it was nice knowing that with the knowledge I have I was still the least savvy person in the group

Ok well here are the pics from 2 days ago on Toledo where it was the best skiing I've had in a long time. 3 people, 4 laps, we tracked it out. Lapping was quick no longer than 10 minutes up an aggressive skinner. The chute looked GREAT, and we wanted it bad, but given the avvy danger, perfect avvy slope pitch at 37 degrees for the entirety of the chute as well as it's terrain trap layout we said no. the chute isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but the snowpack could. It was sublime up there, fabulous snow, pretty wild lighting, good friends, and powder.
the Photog is Will Haas, all credit is owed to him. He takes phenomenal shots you **might** see his work published soon
Adam doing what Adam likes to do; break trail
Walker doing what Walker likes to do; indulge in a faceshot.

The end. It was a happy ending in the non-traditional use of the term
