Looking good over there, rules. Over the hill in Park City, in twelve seasons, I've not seen it this good before Christmas. I'm getting my share every day, and we'll get together sometime next month.

OH SHIZ RVRSCUM SIGHTING.

I'll be out there a couple times this season K- we'll have to at least grab dinner. Maybe a BC tour if you can get off...I would be willing to head over to PC for sure.

Self-medicate before heading up to elevation this time. ;) Or try a lower elevation resort like PC or Steamboat.

It dumped all day, still dumping now. Road closed at 10 pm and interlodge again at 11pm until tomorrow morning. The snow is still coming in really heavy since its warm (30 degrees at 8600'), so hopefully cold air will move in tonight and leave us with a nice low density topper. Country Club skiing tomorrow? Hopefully... :D

Looking forward to it. This is looking like a magical season. I've been really busy, and will begin touring in January when my work slows down. The food alone over here is worth the trip, skiing isn't too bad either.

Skiing today was pretty meh. I did however catch the rope drop to the backside at high greely, I was glad to be near the front of the lineup. The skiing was great, very heavy untracked creamy pow all the way down. I made a few more laps on it then took a run down the nest and finished up with a keyhole run. The weather was very warm, about 32 degrees with low clouds and no wind, so the snow was completely saturated. Anything that was not untracked was very tough skiing, especially with shin bang and a bruised ankle. Booster strap is in order very soon. The more exciting news today is that my beacon finally got to me. It's an Ortovox m2 which is a single antenna analog beacon. The range is supposed to be much better than most digital beacons, and it is better with multiple burials than something like a Tracker dts. I got to do a search thanks to my friend letting me use his tracker. It took a bit longer than I would have liked to find the beacon, but I only had time for one run with it. I have tomorrow off work and the skiing is going to be pretty sub-par, hoping for a castle opening in which case the skiing will be good. So I'm going to head down to the beacon bowl at snowbird and practice for a while. I bought a shovel last night, so I'm hoping to go on some tours very soon.

^^^Marginal skiing, but hopefully the temp gradients do some layer consolidation and the BC is good to go for the next round of storms.

It did pretty cold last night when the sky cleared up and most of the moisture got sucked out of the snow and things were feeling pretty powdery and dry last night. I think I'll go out and hit the backside where its not too tracked out and hopefully get a castle opening

pics from the other day when the snow was heavy.

Greely slid big

That night the skies cleared and the temps dropped into the teens.

Here are some mediocre point and shoot pics. The moon was nearly full and lit up everything

The cold, dry air pulled the moisture out of the snow and the next day the skiing was great. I only toured one lap into grizzly gulch up patsy ridge with two guys I met along the way. We dropped into the NW facing trees on patsy. It was disappointingly short for the amount of skinning we did, but the snow was powdery and the skiing was very good. We kicked a few cornices and nothing was reactive or unstable.
