I usually steer clear of the shoe during the weekends but this weekend looked like the best window for cold temps + a possible dusting in the near future. I'm pretty sure that I enjoy chasing powder as much as anyone else on this site .That's unfortunately not an option right now .I like to snowboard , I went riding and yes the WROD was a blast..The groomers were really nice for first tracks this morning. They had grabhammer ,powdermonkey and ballhooter lifts all running and I never was more than 10 or 15 people deep in line the whole day.Not even a 5 minute wait . Huge props to the snowmakers + grooming crew to have open what they do given the hand they have been dealt. Didn't take many pics as I've been trying to play around with the go pro's video function. Sorry about the pic quality as this cam seems better for video than pic quality

Rope drop .Some nice pockets of soft man made snow to make turns on.

Jib contest on skidder today.I laughed at myself as I was sitting on the skidder chair.

Looking up Gandy early afternoon.

Fun little side hit overview from powdermonkey.

Messageboard member brookbarrel airing off said side hit borrowed from SS's FB page.

Pic credit to Ed. S. from the SS video crew. Thanks!

Somehow the trail count keeps going up out here and wouldn't be surprised if more trails open up tomorrow or Monday.

Whales forming on foxchase at the creek.

Lift ride daydreaming of seasons past at features in this pic .Do you see what I see?

A little video goofing around with a homemade polecam.. Telescoping walking stick + ducktape work wonders

If you are looking for a good monopod, look at go-scope.com. I bought one and it is awesome. It uses the same mount as your helmet. Tell them Kenny from SkiNC referred you.

Today was awesome .It felt like the snowshoe I'm used to. .It was cold, the wind was blowing and there was fresh snow on the ground .It was great to get out and ride while it was snowing again. Some nice turns could be found if you looked around for the wind deposit areas.

Spirits certainly do rise once there's fresh snow on the ground

Much thanks to Ed. S. of the snowshoe video crew who made this video of our second run of the day.His editing+ filming skills are amazing!
