The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard
The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.
We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.
We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Anybody skied that liftline on lower white lightning? There never has been enough snow for me to contemplate it.
considering the lift is so low off the ground as you rise up over the first little knoll (bottom of lightning) I would be in fear of losing my head if I tried it.

As rocky as it is where the liftline merges with WL, it would take most of Beech's seasonal snowfall at one time to make that line feasible.

John Fekette could do it.

About three years ago, I jumped off the lift where the steep of white lightning begins. Its is okay to that point, but on down its nothing but boulders. impossible for anyone with a sane mind...
...SO WHEN ARE WE GOING TO TRY IT???

Jumping off of lifts....so hot right now.
Not so much in my eye - The ski patrol finds it very unbomber as well. I read a story about a dude getting escorted off of Stowe and losing his season pass for jumping one last year
I just would like Beech/Sugar whoever to explore cutting some old school narrow and steep trails similar to the old New England style stuff. I guess snowmaking sort of precludes that sort of thing

Perhaps but that does not preclude accessibility issues, basic safety issues at the door etc. I would be confident to say that it "just appeared" one day and no one says a word unless they are challenged and then the conversation will go something like "that old thing? Why its been there for years! Just a new coat of paint."

Make it natural snow only.
Hardcore at App is pretty narrow though.

:)I wouldn't ski it,too many pipes and stumps and big rocks. If all that was cleared out it would make a hell of a slope.
