There had to have been a foot of fresh on the ground!!!

I drove up to Boone Thursday night in anticipation of a snowstorm. Well, I got one. Stayed on a couch in Boone but was up to Sugar by 7:30 am. The roads were passable, just dont act like a fool.

Got my lift ticket $39 and hit the first chair to the top. Saw Charlie at the base of the lift. He has been smiling at people there as long as I have skied Sugar Mtn. Got him to hold TEH FLAG for a Pic.

Sugar really looked the best I have ever seen them on opening week. Every bit of a 30 to 40 in base. They had groomed early, About 4am and there was PLENTY of light powder everywhere. It remained at 10 degrees most of the day. It poured quarter sized flakes along with the Sugar Snow Machine going full blast. There were free refills on the tracks till about noon. Saw several news medias there.

Sent word to WxBrad that he needed to come himself, not send the skinny, shivering girl to get the shot.

Generally Bad day for Pictures.

nice snowboarder back there

Sugar had a great product today. Probably one of the best days I have had in NC in recent years.

Happy I recommended the Mojo 90's?

That's so sick... the NC and WV resorts are now in better shape than CO and UT. Why don't you send some of that snow my way? :)

CO sucks. what do you need it for.

Heck yeah. Thanks for gettin those to me. They handled well. Skied them front and back. They take landings well. I tried the Fujatives 1 run and clicked out for the last time I think. Too short, Way too slow. The Mojos had the speed I was looking to gain. No hardpack to try the edges on today, But I Love them!

I feel like an idiot for not going today, but there was no way I was taking on the road down Rich Mt this morning. Better safe than sorry.
