With the complete lack of snow in the Colorado mountains so far this winter (and with snow on the MTB trails in the Front Range), my friend and I decided to make a quick trip to Moab to get our outdoor sports fix. We left from the Boulder area early on Thursday and headed to Moab... some rough driving conditions slowed us down a little bit, but 5-1/2 hours later we were in Moab at the Klon**** Bluffs TH. We decided on EKG-Mega Steps-Baby Steps- Klon**** Bluffs for the afternoon.... the trails were perfect.

Adam on EKG:

On the way up Mega Steps... I'm not sure why it's called Mega Steps since there's nothing "mega" about the trail.

Coming down Baby Steps:

And finally heading back down on Klon**** Bluffs just before sunset... it may not be the most tech riding, but those long strips of rock are really cool.

The next day, we had planned to ride both Amasa Back and Slickrock. The temp didn't hit 30 until 10:00, so the start of the day was delayed. We decided instead to mess around on Amasa Back and add Pothole Arch at the end. What a great ride- a must-do for anyone going to Moab.

On the way up:

Just below the "saddle", before the initial descent above Jackson Hole:

The views, as you can see, are virtually unmatched:

On the way back down from the Amasa view-point:

At the Pothole Arch view-point:

And finally, almost back at the car... what a ride.

I wonder what *****mode is? Oh, how we can all speculate!

Edited to say "nice pics" looks like a great time. I've been doing my own redneck crossover sports by riding one day at Beech, then mtn biking at the Whitewater Center trails in CLT. Not as pretty scenery, but gotta love North Carolina.

 hahahaha. Pansy mode. Anything you were thinking would likely have been accepted as well.

EDIT: I can't believe there aren't any smiley packs, I thought vBulletin had a crap ton built in for the default install even.
