Hat's off to the strong souls that have reported and survived this storm

I'll add our report on the Newlin USGS quad, folks don't talk about this terrain very much; whether its to harsh or not harsh enough; well, you can be the judge.

We started the day in a local terrain park

Then it is the long slog up to the high terrain

Descents down the groomers aren't bad

But then you have to deal with the manual lift

WHICH IS still good as it leads you to the BackBowls

Two final videos -- it was a fun day --

looks like pretty good coverage. In my part of the piedmont the snow was stable at first but gave way to some pretty intense slides.

But do you have the Marker ROTOMAT binding?

Tanner -- you will notice that we were avoiding the slopes facing north to north-south; we may be reckless but we're not INSANE

good stuff david and everyone else posting. these are really fun reading. love the useful bc hints as well - thumbs up!

not really enough snow here in sw durham to carve, only about binding plate deep and tracked out fast. got some sled runs on the massive 6 foot vertical front yard - this is suburbia so no couloirs here. strange combination of cold frozen slush and light snow. was hoping for some xc action but that would have ruined the skis.

glad to see high speed lifts were avoided!

I wussed out today. After 4 GREAT days in CO, I just couldn't bare putting the boots back on for a few 100 foot runs in the backyard

looks pretty fun, I am out of school tomorrow and still have all of my front and back yards covered somewhat so I am going to gather what I can and throw something together in the backyard. I will post pics and maybe video tomorrow.
