on the way up...
anybody know this guy?
No other pics for Sunday. It was a complete whiteout with gusty winds which made things quite interesting. I could barely see where to go, I just had to look for people and follow them. Headed up the little cloud lift and rode down Regulator Johnson. From the top the snow was wind blown which uncovered a couple of icy spots but nothing major. The snow got softer as we got a little further down. I didn't get any headaches due to altitude sickness but my lungs were taking a beating though as I was having a very hard time breathing. Had to stop every 100 yds or so or until I fell to catch my breath. After a couple of runs, I told my buddies to hit up the chutes and cliffs they'd been eyeing on the ride up and so I did a few runs by myself.
Onto Monday...
We had to wait til 10 to leave since Canyon Road was closed from the overnight storm. This is what the lines looked like when we got there...not bad though only had to wait 10 mins tops one time and by time we came back down everyone flocked to the tram since it had opened a bit late.
One trail had just opened as I was going down and saw several people cruising in waist deep powder. I wish I could have take a picture of that. Lots of shouts of excitement from people riding that day. I guess from that reaction the snow was definitely gooooood. My breathing did get better on Monday and I was able to almost make it through a run without having to stop to catch my breath. I guess it takes a few days at least for me to get used to the thin air. I mixed in snowboarding and tourist stuff. I had never been out west so I wanted to get in as much tourism as I could. I got to meet quite a few people and made alot of new friends while I was there. Hopefully, I'll be able to make a trip out there next year. As I was heading to the airport yesterday it was still snowing in the mountains. Winter is definitely not over yet.
