I think I can sum up the last four days with a line I saw on a t-shirt yesterday:

Crested Butte: Good for the soul.

Sarah and I went to CB on Thursday and stayed for four days, doing some hiking and relaxing in town- and having a great time like always. We did a couple of longer hikes that I've been wanting to do for a while now, and they didn't disappoint. Here are the pics from the first couple days...

July is wildflower season in CB- you'll see why.

Not a huge fan of horses, but I thought it was cool with these guys enjoying the mountains.

These guys were everywhere. I mean everywhere.

A literal carpet of flowers.

Every color you can imagine.

A little bit of orange thrown in for good measure.

The flower on the right is saying "Hey, look at me".

The West Maroon Trail has the best concentration of flowers I've ever seen. It was like walking through a florist, times ten.

As if the flowers weren't enough, the views don't disappoint either.

Once to the top of West Maroon Pass, you can see down towards Aspen. That's North Maroon Peak on the left, and Pyramid on the right.

Nothing like chillin' at the top with my favorite hiking partners. Oh, and Sarah too.

Looking back down on the CB side, where we came from:

A columbine for a parting measure- the state flower of CO.

Part 2 coming shortly.

I wanna go next winter.
