I spent the last 5 days in the SC Lowcountry, Beaufort to be exact, visiting family and friends. The area is absolutely beautiful- if you haven't been and have a chance, I highly recommend it. I don't know of many other places in the lower 48 that are as relaxing and low-key as the stretch of coast between Charleston and Savannah. I took a handful of pics when I was down there- these are some of my favorites.

Dad, Mom and wife hanging by the River Front.

Side door to the Episcopal Church.

Built in 1724... that's a long time ago.

The beach at Hunting Island, a must-see. Its more like a scene from "Lost".

Sunsets over the marshes- tough to beat.

Departing colors- the real scene was actually brighter than this.

Great pics!!!! Beaufort's like a second home to me as well... Lived at Fripp for a year and we have our family reunion there every July 4th... Daddy Grace (the band) plays downtown regularly at Luther's and Panini's...

Very nice... I'll have to tell my parents about it- they're always heading downtown for bands and festivals. I know exactly where both of those places are.

If you've got those H.I. pics then I'm sure you've been out on the "marsh boardwalk" just up from the day use area at H.I. but just in case you HAVEN'T... check it out... Kinda touristy if you're a local or go there all of the time but it's pretty cool the first time or two....

I love that S curve in the first shot. Nice silhouettes as well.
