The morning started off a little later than intended, but so do most trips that involve the wife! The roads were pretty good with a few slick spots from black ice. Had 1 near mishap on I-40 near Winston-Salem from said black ice, luckily it was a small patch so no worries. We arrived to flurries and slushy roads in Boone. 4wd was probably not needed, but did come in handy in the Bojangles parking lot. Rolled up to App way late for the Sunday morning session; however, it's App so many laps were made due to the short lines, short lift rides & quick trips down the slope.
Not too many people there:
Shorter lines when they finally opened the quad ~11am:
It snowed all morning:
Tree runs:
Hardcore & Thin Slice could have been open:
Heading home:
More driving than skiing, but it was good to get out and make some turns with the wife. Conditions were GREAT, even though most of the POW had been groomed... Twas a good day!
