I took my sons and two of their friends for a ski weekend -- We got lucky, we left Hillsbourough (NC) at 9am and passed the INN on the way up at 4 pm just when the snow was getting serious--snow was falling hard by the time we got off the bus and started skiing at silver creek

Saw Brookbarrel that night and skiied some early runs next day, well actually I ate it and he didn't in the Gold Rush of December'09

my younger son bought a new board (burton clash , I think) even if it was a rip-off to buy on the mountain it might have been worse to keep struggling with a 151, anyway it was his money, I kicked in $50

Narrow aisles

Cheap but excellent accomodation

Anyway, last thing -- Shamrock had a late night Sunday, some final shots of that

The way out on Monday was sweet and slow, traveling along the Greenbriar River, for 2-3 hours was o.k.

We got very, very lucky on this trip and I feel for everyone who wasn't so lucky --but I have got to say -- WHAT AN EPIC ****ING STORM!!

Oh yeh -- the demo day was in a reduced state -- the voLkl reps for example were snowed in on the Richmond side -- so there was Head and Armada; I did not meet the people at Head but demoed a few at Armada and I want the ARV --Travis who was running the show was great

The silver creek session fri night was a great prelude to the rest of the weekend. It was cool seeing the tracks filled in everytime we got back up top. What do you think the % was of people at grabhammer that sunk or cartwheeled at the gold rush rope drop sat? That was pretty funny.Great report and weekend!!

Nice TR David, hitting the jackpot weather-wise is an awesome feeling.

Where did you stay on the mountain?

Yeah Shamrock -- the guy had converted a bedroom into a studio it was cramped fro our group but CHEAP!!, cheaper still because he was still sort of working on it so he charged us even less

% of people who went down on that first run Brookbarrel? Hard to say but there were a lot strewn around behind me and I passed a dozen more when I got going again -- pretty comical, set it to some Three Stooges soundtrack

Also I got a coupon off the snowboard my son bought for a ticket and lesson (maybe I could use it for skiing I don't know how they can just make it Boarding) at Coppe, Stowe, 7-springs, Blue Mountain to name just a few
