After having my skis stole @ App Sat night we took a trip to Beech last night and Winterplace today. Temps were around 24 and the snow guns were cranking as was the real stuff. Conditions were great and the crowd was not that bad as long as you stayed up top.
Tunnel on the way up. I thought this was pretty cool

Parking is for cars, not for boarders wanting to yap! Looked good, and you still have your skis

Sorry I am posting from my phone and it wont let me delete in a quote. But yes I still have my new skis. We went in before we hit the slopes and the 1st thing I say on the wall was a $500 reward for anyone catching someone stealing skis or boards. Maybe App needs to start something like this.

Wife and I are headed there next week (1/05-1/06, depending on snow activity). Can you tell how close they are to opening the rest of mountain - Woods Run, Ridge Runner, Turkey Chute, etc? Thanks, and nice TR. (I have never been to Wplace, so photos help with visuals.)

you gotta learn one way or the other...I was there at one point. I do agree though, as a snowboarder myself I find it's the inexperienced 1st timers out there sitting in the middle of the run causing accidents. Typically you won't see people who know what they are doing parked on the slope like that.
Oh, a nice TR btw fishorski! Sorry again to hear about your skis.

I would say real soon. Yesterday it looked like all trails were covered and snowmakeing going on on all slopes. The closed trails were getting blasted pretty heavy.

from the looks of those pictures and from past experience, WP blasts also blasts the open trails hard. Should be good to go on all trails very soon!

Well said! I never condone sitting in the middle of a run but I've been taken out by just as many inexperienced skiers as inexperienced boarders and seen my share of skiers taking up half a run gathering their scattered skis and poles that they've lost. And nothing compares to having a ski pole swung at your face when some of them fall. But that really sucks about the skis. I have no patience for a thief. Looks like you and the family had a good time though and that's all that really matters
