the front page of this site says 5.2 inches. What i have heard makes it seem that the storm was stronger south of asheville. I am north of asheville and we got about 5 inches with a quarter inch crust of ice.

I saw a report of 12" close to Asheville. There were some heavy bands, but most of the moisture went south of me (Boone). We ended up with about half of what was forecasted.

I read that the asheville airport set a record at around 11 inches and someone on the citizens times blog said 13 inches in Mills River.

At our house right across the valley from Wolf Ridge we got 6" with an ice/sleet cover and we are approximately the elevation of mid unload. Wolf was the same, plus or minus a little bit.

Ray's forecast was a little high versus what we really got, he was saying 12-16" late Friday night. South Asheville got more than we did, just the way it works some times.
