The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

So I know that most of these trip reports have photos, but I am new to all of this so please be patient.

Since this was my first time snowboarding my wife and I took leasons and quickly appreciated how difficult snowboarding is over skiing. I got in 3 more runs down the cub run before I took a spill and really bruised my backside that did me in for the day. Even at this point of being bruised and feeling beat up we both stated we enjoyed boarding better than skiing.

Satuday we wanted to improve over current skills so we took another private leason and I saw drastic results thanks to the leason and the soft conditions thanks to the drizzle then hours of snowfall. i actually was able to link together a few turns and control my direction. My wife was able to do both a heelside and toeside stop just not consistently.

We had a great time and resulting from this great trip are really considering hitting the beech summit if we can find a way to work it out.

I hate i never saw any of the other boardmembers but I am sure us being on the newbie slopes didn't give us the exposure.

Glad to hear that the ski school helped you guys out. I taught up there for 7 years and this is my first season away. If I hadn't moved to ATL I quite possibly could have been your teacher. Keep it up, snowboarding is better than skiing! hahaha
