Just returned to NC from our Tahoe trip, it was awesome. Great conditions the entire time. We stayed in South Lake Tahoe just across from the Heavenly gondola, and considering it was a week day we decided to hit Heavenly and avoid the crowds. Conditions were great on the mountain top to bottom. It was a blue bird day so the snow got a little slow toward the end of the session, but overall a great time. Every staff member I encountered was very pleasant and helpful. Here are a few photos from that day...
my wife and friend warming up on the California side
California summit
looking at the Nevada side from California
in the trees on the Navada side
me dropping into one of the snowboard parks
Day Two:
It snowed all night and was still snowing in the morning so we decided to head up to Alpine Meadows since the totals were higher on the north side of the lake. Alpine was a great mountain and despite the low visibility and hard snow we had a great time. Tree runs weren't as plentiful, but there was plenty of terrain to enjoy.
HOME OF THE JAMAICAN SKI TEAM
low visibility, high stoke
headed up to check out the cliffs
out of bounds had the best snow...
mountain right from the base
Day Three: We got 10" overnight and since it snowed most of the day on day two, we had a little trouble getting back to the south side of the lake...so we decided to hit Heavenly again.
and since it was my 30th birthday, we decided to jump in the lake at 2am after spending too much time in the casino drinking free liquor
More photos of yours truly to come.
