Had a hard time pulling this overnighter off. GF:"You just got back from Tahoe , What's wrong with you?" But the jobsite is covered in snow , I can't work .I bought a midweek pass especially for times like this ,in response .Any way made it happen.

Report said it snowed 5 inches overnight. I guess it was the windloading and the grooming crew leaving some goods ungroomed that made it seem deeper. Closing at 2 PM the day before early and no slope traffic from 2 PM-9 AM didn't hurt either.!Snowed all day, and still was when I left at 2 PM. Grab/knot bump. then over to choker.

Knot bumper w/ some tree limb carnage

Choker

This powdermonkey lift can't get me back up top fast enough. Some guy walking out in search of the groomer

Knees grazing the snow on toeside turns = fatter tracks , pretty good snow depth + fun.

I found this quite amusing. And caught the moment .The classic vacationer bury is pretty common on choker /powday ungroomed.Reaching out for help.

Can't beat em join em.

Made it to widowmaker after trying lower shay's (awful too much wind still )

Couple stashes left .But found some cool features in the trees now that there's a good snowpack in the woods.

A little chute .What's on the other side?

Point it through the double drop ,cess slide after the 2nd drop to avoid a wall of trees awaiting me. Doesn't it always seem steeper in person than by picture.?

The quality of the snow is amazing right now , the stuff in the woods is knee-thigh deep in spots . Wasn't hitting bottom .Super light/dry snow .Get on it!!

The landing is perfect for hucking now, just saying

Very nice. I was there during the blizzard 2/5 & 2/6. I was still hitting bottom in the woods on Friday. Going backup 2/19 - 2/21. Heard there was another storm coming. Good stuff BB.

Thanks EC, just edited and added a few more pics. DO IT !! I wasn't even riding my pow board and was plowing through the deep without getting stuck, very good quality ,dry , light snow. The snow on the western territory NW facing is really wind crusted unless your deep in the trees. Try the stuff on the other side of the ridge it has blown in there perfectly .Have fun. It will be worth it!

WOW! I am so freaking jealous!

Thanks for the great pics. You are really making it hard on me to not get up there this year. I was trying to put back a little cash for a few other things, but with conditions like this, that may have to wait :D

I am curious about you guys favorite lodging options and why at SS since it has been so long since my last visit. I know they have added some more choices over the last ten years.
