Was on my way to snowshoe to ride today/tomorrow .When I got the call that our project previously aimed for Monday was gonna start friday(tomorrow). I might of scored some blower pow fri at snowshoe/might be some wind hold .Only time will tell. Either way I still got to do some riding today plus the summit is next weekend.Upon receiving the call and already in route to WVA I decided to do a 1/2 day at wintergreen. A little dusting overnight softened up the groomers.Found some good snow in the highlands.

Typical midweek crowds+ some pretty good corn +sunny skies.

Some fun features along the edges in the highlands

And a rarity for me these days a little bit of boosting in the park.Only about 15-20 foot gaps so it was really pretty easy for someone who has stepped away from jump line laps to enjoy.

That's all

Dang, that jump line looks sweet. Wish App had room to do something like that or that Wintergreen wasn't 3 1/2 hrs away.

yeah thats a really good looking line. If there was stuff like that in nc i would be more incline to hit jumps. every time ive been to app this year the park setup hasnt been good, especially the jumps

The Highlands at WG are all the blue runs to the left of the main slopes, or are they the black runs to the right/below?

wahhhh. i see way too much of this type of attitude on this forum. use what you got. you live in the southeast. youre probably not stepping to apps jumps b/c they're frikin 40 ft cheese wedges. "this takeoff's not perfectly groomed," "this rails angle is not 37.2 degrees down," all i hear are excuses. if you can really ride then you can charge anything in any condition...and what better place to do it than right here in north carolina where the conditions change faster than great uncle jimbos blood pressure?! end rant (not meant as a personal attack, i just wholeheartedly disagree with this mindset and im tired of hearing/seeing it).

point taken. I will admit, im not very good at park at all. i can slide most boxes and hit some rails, I can even switch up sometimes. I can spin 1's and 3's and I have gotten good at riding switch. For me to be "inclined" to hit park there needs to be a decently maintained setup. The reason I brought it up in the first place was because i've gone to app a couple of times this year for no other reason than to hit park, and they hype their mtn up a lot because of their park, and when the park sucks every time I go there I have a decent reason to comment on how it would be nice if app's park looked like wintergreen's park. It isn't just me that has noticed app's park being metiocre this year. And I do agree about the cheese wedge jumps, it almost feels like hitting a qtr pipe...

I can do mostly the same, 1's 3's and some switch off rails.. but I hate the whole culture and attitude that goes along with the park, people just sit there judging you. If I had my way I would ski big mountain everytime out, but unfortunatley since I live in Southeast its kind of hard to make that dream a reality. That is why I love big mountain type skiing so much.

That's what I like about being old. If I'm happy with what I'm doing, as long as it doesn't hurt someone else, I really don't care what someone else thinks. I like who I am, take me or leave me.
