We saw some new fashion.

Nice to see the patrol hard at work. Looks like you had a good day. Is that you sporting the new fashion at the rental desk?

Great day, even with the double chair break down. Cat knows how to run a mountain and comped everyone who was stuck on the lift. Can't think of any other ski area in NC that would do that... cough.. cough.. Sugar.

That's an awesome gesture by the Cat hierarchy. I can't remember any time another NC resort has done that for a lift issue.
...Sugar's parking lot was full all the way out to the road yesterday...they must be doing something right. Juss Sayin'. And Gunther is being really cool for a change and has ok'd pretty much anywhere on the mountain with the exception of the lift line.

If sugar were to comp everyone stuck on a lift for an hour, they would be comping everyone that went to the top of the mountain.

When I see how much snow is in those pictures, it seems like an absolute crime for them to close up on March 21st. Good on Cat for comping your tickets. Yet again Cat shows that they know how to run a mtn.

Great day at CAT yesterday!!!!!!!!!
I felt sorry for the folks stuck on the lift yesterday - and those that had the chance to hop off at the mid station but chose not too!
The ticket office was saying yesterday they planned to close 03/21...but a few Ski Patrol guys were saying they might try for early April.

I'd go if they stayed open til the 9th. I know they have plenty of snow to do that. But I guess they won't stay open if nobody shows cuz they'd be losing money then. Maybe they could just go to be open on the weekends.

My idea would be to stay open on weekends for midweek prices. That way they could still make money by maintaining a large crowd in the shoulder season. Also, I've often wondered if they could just run the summit lift to save on staff.

I was at Silver Creek on Sunday about to sit in a chair at the bottom when the power shut down the whole mountain, another 15 seconds and I would have been stuck in a chair, instead I was stuck at the bottom and ski patrol had to take me up to the top on a snowmobile.
