The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Got up here last night a little after 7pm. I wasn't sure really what to expect especially seeing the weather forecast being in the 60s for the most part of this trip. Woke up temps in the low 30s. Got out of the car and felt a light warm breeze at the bottom of the mountain. Decided to leave the jacket in the car and just use my fleece pullover as it had already started warming up. I kept a light layer on for the most part, even just wearing my glove liners even though they aren't waterproof. Free midweek lift tickets via my Aunt's coupon book. :>) Tomorrow is weekend rates but we get it at half day rates which is $59 from have a special that is sent via text message from them. The slopes were in great condition in the morning. Nice smooth corduroy and very fast. I made a run with my Aunt down Tuckered Out to warm up. It was sweet. With a fresh coat of wax on my board I was going pretty fast. That changed though on the afternoon. Lift lines weren't too bad. We actually thought it would be a lot less busier but the most we waiting in line was about 2-3 min. They actually know how to parse out the people in the lines unlike most of the southeast and mid atlantic . I found out the reason it was busy was because it was Canada week. So I guess thats their spring break. Made sense when I started seeing Ontario plates. Ate lunch outside and basked in the sun. Went back out and decided to hit up the South Face. Things were looking up (or so "I" thought) when we made our way over there and we come up to the lift with no one in sight. Made it to the top of the lift and starting getting off when my brother's ski pole got in my way on the ramp and it got caught up under my board. The rest of the day, riding was not the same. I'm guessing the combination of the slush slowing me down since it got warmer and the board getting jacked up by his ski pole made things for me miserable. Rode the rest of the day on it and went down to the ski shop to have them run it through the machine for tomorrow. We'll see if that will do the trick or if its going to need a hot wax. We entertained the idea of going to Stratton tomorrow but decided against it as soon as we heard that the U.S. Open was going on and that unlike the X games, its not free for spectators.
