I had to go to NYC for work last week, and I decided to stick around for an extra day to see the main tourist sights. I've been there a handful of times already, but never armed with my trusty Canon 40D. The light is weird in NYC- with all the tall buildings and structures, its tough to get something without a shadow. These came out pretty well anyways.

The view from my friend's apartment, overlooking the East River to Manhattan:

An apartment building above Central Park, near Columbus Circle:

Similar view as the first picture, except at night:

Looking up from the Seaport:

Patterns in buildings:

Part of the Seaport shipyard:

Looking up in Times Square:

Canon 40D, and most of them (if not all, I think) were taken with my Sigma 18-125 lens.

Cool pics!

I grew up in NYC. Wouldn't live there now, but do enjoy visiting, especially in blue sky weather.
2023-24: Wolf Creek in Dec, Massanutten in Jan, Feb; GT, Big Sky; Crested Butte; Alta/Snowbird in April.

I don't even know what the F a tilt-shift lens does... so no, I won't be buying one anytime soon.

My next purchase will be a set of ND filters. (just bought a tripod)
