During ski season SKISC mentioned doing a Mtbike race sometime, something about a 12 or 24hr race. I said 12 or 24hrs??? do they have a 2hr or beer league race? So we compromised and did a 6hr race over the weekend in Ft. Yargo, GA. This was my first race, SKISC has done many. Course was 11.74 mile loop, we were able to get 4 laps in (2 each) with our time keeping us about 15 minutes under the 6hr limit. Average speed 9.3 mph, max 23. Elevation gain 1,545 ft. Fun course, really had a good time.

The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

I've got a friend who's always begging me to do 12-hr races out here, but when I go mtn biking I do it for the ride and enjoyment, not for the competition.
We were basically just doing it for fun. Wee had a goal of four laps and we got that and had fun doing it.
