Just skiied Liberty Snowflex in 91 degree weather...it was hot as all getout, but surprisingly fun! Mimicked real snow pretty well. Rentals are pretty chintzy, but was impressed. Only downfall is no real chairlift, just the tow ropes (yuck). Still, where else can you ski in the summer!? Plus, if you're a Liberty student, it's all free, even rentals! Saw kids doing the tubing...great way to wear out the little ones, as they have to pull the tubes back up the hill...:D

Yeah, For real. My bro took a trip up there last year... said it tor the helll outa his board. I've been thinking about checkin it out myself... Suppose renting would be a good idea?

It looked like a board slope to me. Fun w/ skis?

I have been intending to head up there all summer. I was going this weekend but I get to go on a different vacation now. I will most likely post a tr or video of my trip.

It didn't do anything to MY skis b/c I rented :-)

I was in the minority on skis....mostly guys on snowboards. In fact, I was the only female, period. LOL Nothing like a 32-year old female skiing alongside a bunch of 17-21 year olds! But it was a fun diversion on a business trip. I'm gonna go again later this week when my arms have recovered from that stinkin' tow rope!

PS--was reading some other posts about Snowflex and it cracked me up re: the snobbery of "is it a real ski slope or not." Of course it's not! You can't go in expecting a perfect Park City-type snow or experience. It's a fun attraction and nothing more.

For those that haven't been and are interested in it, like she said, it isn't real, but it is what it is. It's kinda like going to THE CLOUDMONT, it's as much fun as you make it. The "snow" has an incosistent stickyness to it. But other then that, it's great fun. As far as the what it does to your equipment, I would suggest you rent, it's only a few dollars and it saves your stuff. It's very abrasive on your skin, I would imagine it's just as abrasive on the bottom of your board.

They are hidden deep in the archives, just like the pics of THE CLOUDMONT's backside.

Does the lower backside of Cloudmont have a tatoo on it? That's so 'Bama!

Paging John Fekete....I bet he and his brother rode down the snowflex (experimental at the time) at 84 mph on some 227cm race skis back in the day. All you otters just rott.
