My wife and I went down to CB last weekend for four days of hiking, biking, relaxing, and stuffing ourselves at the amazing restaurants they have in town. The place is more beautiful and relaxing every time we go down there... and that's quite often. We ended up doing two main hikes- Dark Canyon near Kebler Pass, and Rustler Gulch outside of Gothic. I was able to mix in a few mountain bike rides as well- not bad for a long weekend.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

The wildflowers were off the hook, like usual:

My hiking partners for the day, with an unbelievable place to stop for lunch:

On the way to CB, at the top of Cottonwood Pass:

And one last shot- by Sarah- of me starting down the initial descent of the **** Trail:

The longer you look at that last picture, the more little red flowers pop out. Pretty cool

Is it a long drive from the front range to CB? Probably much shorter in the summer.

4+ hours... you can shave off 15-20 minutes in the summer, but it isn't much shorter. Unless the roads are sh*tty, of course- then it could take a looooong time.

Man, 4 hours is about what it takes me to get to Beech Mtn here as it is. And I thought CB was super far from Denver...
