The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Playboat, check.

Green Boat, for Ocoee river race, check.

Refreshments, check.

Firewood & Misc. Gear, check.

Lonely Nomad in the garage.

At least she got to go out for a couple laps on Greenbriar yesterday afternoon though, so it's not like I'm neglecting her.

Time to pull out and head to the Ocoee for a practice lap. Have fun at work suckers. :D

Bringing your own firewood? Just steal someone else's. Thats the way its done at the Ocoee.

Here's a refresher course:

1. Get fwammied with your buddies.

2. Walk up to fire pit at campground.

3. Act like you own the place.

4. Take firewood.

5. Enjoy refreshments at your campsite over a job well done.

6. (optional) Observe some fugly British ladies at the bar, watch one of your other drunk buddies ask about their teeth.

I was gassed by the time I got here with half of the river left. Among the things I learned this weekend, I should have spent more tha 15 minutes in a Green Boat before the race. I did get 1st place in the Men's long boat that had a birthday this weekend division though. Seriously, I have a medal for it. I'm kind of like the short bus boater. I did manage to achieve all my goals for the weekend, no carnage, finish the race, didn't come in last in the men's long boat division. Most stressful moment, sitting in the eddy waiting to start thinking, just don't get worked in the Entrance Rapid, just don't get worked in the Entrance Rapid, just don't get worked in the Entrance Rapid.

Congrats on a suuccessful finish! I love kayaking the Ocoee, but I don't know if I could handle trying to kayak it super fast. I feel like at some point I would forget some important beta on one of the rapids and get totally trashed.
