Decided at about 4pm on Friday to high tail it down I-95 a total of 550 miles to have a day in Daytona Beach for Bike week. Cranked up the Harley and my neighbor on his Victory CrossCountry. We tore down to Savanah Friday night and then on to Daytona on Sat morning.
Average speed for the 1100 miles rt was about 83.3 mph
Josh in SC somewhere
We got to Daytona and the bikes were everywhere! Heaven on wheels. Great day to ride with 85 degrees and full sun. We checked out the venders, rode a few roads and got a room at the Plaza hotel. Awesome place. It has been there over 100 yrs and was a old money place. Its just next to the Hilton on Atlantic.
We rode till the sun set, and then parked the bikes and hoofed it to Main St.
Main st turns crazy at night with an endless parade of bikes and babes. We started at Boot Hill saloon at the cemetary. Small cups and an ok band. Moved on down to the Full Moon Saloon for a rocking band. Hard rock and roll, some newer, mostly old. Missippi Queen was awesome with my 5th Crown n Coke. When the band finished we hopped over to Froggys but it was mad packed, so on to the Yagermeister tent. There we stayed the next 4 hours. With this young lady becoming my personal waitress, (Yeah she got Big tips)
The scene was sweet and we got bar stools. Rocking band and DJ was good all night.
Somewhere in between the CnC and the Yager shots she was peddeling, I got a little tipsy.
Ok I got blitzed. The cops were cool with the safety measures. I sat and drank and smoked and enjoyed the views. Only got smacked twice that night. Made alot of friends i was told the next day around Noon when I woke up. Round bout 2am we slunk back the 6 blocks to the hotel.
Loaded up the bikes and cruised on Back home 550 miles. Awesome weekend. Worth the ride for sure.
