Made the trek from Chartown anticipating Sugar opening. The girlfriend and I left at 6 AM bright and early and we were rewarded with being the first 2 customers of the year. Got a free lift ticket out of it. We split it so we each only payed $12.50 for lifties. I will probably never ever say that again about a day at Sugar. The bottom half of the mountain was sketchy. Better than I expected though. Only one area with grass sticking through. From the mid station up it was really good for an opening day. No bare spots and the sides of Upper Flying Mile had maybe like 5-6" of some wet powder in the morning which was cool to play around in. I hate on Sugar a lot but they can lay down some snow. Kudos to them for today.

The blizzard at the bottom.

Upper Flying Mile

At 3/4 Station.

Strappin in.

I took some video today. Of course the blowers iced over the lens every time. Here is just a little clip I salvaged. And naturally, the clip I get is one where I fell.

Just wondering, is video embedding allowed anymore? I can't get it to work.

Per Raysweather the highs at Beech and Sugar would be about the same on Sunday is 38, Monday is 48 and Tues. is 52, with lows above freezing. I hate to be the "funsuc*er" but the snow is not gonna last long. I would be shocked if Sugar or Cat. make it to Tuesday.

I think I may have met you and asked you how conditions were. Not sure though.
