With only one day of skiing under my belt and 70 degree temperatures in Colorado, I decided to take advantage of the nice weather before the cold fronts start moving in... well, we managed to pick the perfect location and time, as the cold front moved in AS we were hiking. Temps dropped from 70 to 50 and the wind easily whipped at 30mph as we hiked out in the open landscape.

This area is about 15 miles north of Fort Collins, CO- home of New Belgium Brewery- and is beautiful in a "wide open, no one for miles" type of way. The scale of the landscape just doesn't translate.... but I gave it my best.

Sweet pics, I like the first and last one best- did you do any B&W conversions?

Hmmm.... I actually didn't even think of it with this set. Given the relative lack of color, I wanted to see if I could bring out the red, orange, and green in these shots.

I really liked the vertical red clay road, until I saw the horizontal one. Both are magic.
