All the snow that Colorado has received (100"+ at both Breck and Vail) and some cheap rooms and free airline tix, had me itching to go ski. I just couldn't wait till my March trip.

Let me say this, if you have ever skied or boarded Vail Resorts during mid-season and spring break, then you know the liftlines are "almost" as bad as on MLK day at Sugar, Beech and Cataloochee. NOBODY was there (Breck, Keystone, Vail, BC) during the week. We skiied Mon-Fri. and skiied onto the lift everytime with no liftlines. The slopes were deserted (no dodging people). Temps were cold Monday (6 degree high) warmed up to the mid teens Tuesday and then were near freezing Wed- Fri. If you can ever hit up Summit County with this much early season snow, DO IT. Do it before Christmas, before the winter holidays and before spring break....you will have your own private ski mountain. Breck was 80% open and Vail about 65% open.

On to my mini-TR.

November 28- December 4

Skiied Breck yesterday (Monday) it was cold 6 degees on the mountain and the top was socked in so we didn't ski the tbar or Imperial Express. Skiied about everthing else they had open. Good cold powder could still be found off chair six. Only got to ski the mineshaft/devils crotch area one run as lift E was closed. All in all, a good day with no lift lines.

Vail today after 5" (10" in two days) was money. Sunny sky, no wind and a little warmer. The high today was 16ish. Again skiied up to the chair everytime--didn't think that was possible in Vail.

China Bowl

Siberia Bowl--boot deep powder still to be found at 11:30

Two Elk Lodge view

There was still untracked areas in Game Creek Bowl after lunch!

I now (> vail

Wednesday 12/1

Snowing to beat the band this morning in Breck. Should be a good day at Keystone. Bout to head out now.

I then dropped my iPhone that night after skiing and broke the "home" button, which left my unable to switch between apps unless I powered the phone down.

We skiied BC Thursday and got to watch Bodie Miller (World Cup was last weekend) on the Birds of Prey downhill course for some pre-race training and Michael Walhoffer (sic) and a few others in between runs. Skiied Breck again Friday with Peak 7 open (windy) instead of Loveland b/c of the windy conditions. All in all a good week and I cant wait to get back "home" in March.
