The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Alright guys and gals...it's that time of year. We are looking for some serious skiers and snowboarders who are interested in dedicating a little time to being On-Snow Reporters for SkiSoutheast.com and SkiNC.com. This year we're sweetening the pot a little! We have some season's passes, tons of lift passes, and cold hard cash to give away. Each month we will select a "stand out" reporter who will walk away with a few greenbacks, $500.00 worth.

We want to continue to promote our ski areas, and we need your help to do it. We'd love to be able to get out there and do this all ourselves, but it's not possible, so we're counting on you. If you're interested in becoming an On-Snow Reporter, let us know. We're looking for consistent, reliable, and unbiased reporters who love winter sports as much as we do.

Send an e-mail to me, Sarah, as I'll be working with most of your content throughout the season at [email protected] if you'd like more information or have any questions or you can sign up at http://www.skisoutheast.com/onsnow.htm

I must admit I was a little disappointed when the forecasted 2 feet of snow turned into about 6-8 inches the last few days out in West Virginia.Nonetheless the same wind that can turn windchills brutal can load up certain areas of the slopes pretty good with powder.Surprisingly, visibility was fine(was expecting blowing snow and whiteout conditions) and the sun peeked out on occasion.

Calculating layering this morning before heading out

The snow surface was great !It was just cold

Cold smoke ,just wish it was a little deeper.Jeff, feeling toasty in a down jacket

Entering the white room sequence

Overall good day on the slopes with minimal crowds+ great snow surface.Hopefully the feeling comes back to my toes soon
